यह रहा टुथपेस्ट/टुथपावडर का कोरा सच......भाग II ( कंक्लूयडिंग पार्ट)

इस पोस्ट में हम ने आज हम यह फैसला करना है कि दांतों की सफाई टुथपेस्ट से हो, किसी आयुर्वैदिक टुथपावडर से हो, या फिर किसी और ढंग से हो। इस पोस्ट को लिखना तो शुरू कर दिया है लेकिन समझ में नहीं आ रहा है कि किस क्रम से शुरू करूं !.............मेरे ख्याल में दांतों की सफाई के लिये लोगों द्वारा इस्तेमाल किये जा रहे विभिन्न तरीकों की चर्चा से शुरू करते हैं......

मैडीकेटिड टुथपेस्टें .....इन दवाई-युक्त पेस्टों को बहुत लोगों द्वारा इस्तेमाल किया जाता है ...होता यूं है कि जब किसी के दांतों में दर्द होता है, तो कोई मित्र-रिश्तेदार कोई ऐसी मैडीकेटिड टुथपेस्ट के नाम की सिफारिश कर देता है। बस, फिर क्या है ...अगले दिन से सारे परिवार द्वारा वही पेस्ट इस्तेमाल करनी शुरू कर दी जाती है। अकसर जिन लोगों के दांतों में ठंडा लगता है या मसूड़ों से खून आता है तो वे किसी दंत-चिकित्सक के पास जाने की बजाये अपने आप ही इस तरह की पेस्टें खरीद कर रगड़ने को मुनाफे का सौदा मानते हैं। कभी कभी कोई दंत-चिकित्सक भी इलाज के दौरान इस प्रकार की पेस्ट को कुछ दिनों के इस्तेमाल की सलाह देते हैं............लेकिन ,कुछ लोगों का तो बस यही एटीट्यूड हो जाता है हम क्यों इसे करना बंद करें, हमें तो बस एक बार नाम पता चलना चाहिये और वैसे भी जब हमें इस प्रकार की पेस्टों से आराम सा लग रहा है तो हम क्यों इसे इस्तेमाल करना बंद करें।

आज कल तो अखबारों में कुछ पेस्टें इस तरह के दावे करती भी दिखती हैं कि इन के इस्तेमाल से पायरिया रोग ठीक हो जाता है। आज तक तो मैंने ऐसी कोई करिश्माई टुथपेस्ट ना ही देखी ना ही सुनी कि जो इस पायरिया को ही ठीक कर दे। अगर पायरिया है तो इस का इलाज प्रशिक्षित दंत-चिकित्सक से करवाना ही होगा, और कोई विकल्प तो है ही नहीं, अगर दांतों में ठंडा-गर्म लगता है...तो भी दंत-चिकित्सक के पास जाकर इस का कारण पता करने के उपरांत इस का निवारण करना ही होगा। इस तरह की मैडीकेटिड टुथपेस्टें और कुछ करें ना करें....शायद लंबें समय तक दांत एवं मसूड़ों की बीमारियों के लक्षणों को दबा ज़रूर देती हैं और लोग एक अजीब तरह की फाल्स सैंस ऑफ सैक्यूरिटि में उलझे रहते हैं कि सब कुछ ठीक हो गया है जब कि इन पेस्टों की असलियत तो यह है कि इन के इस्तेमाल के बावजूद दांतों एवं मसूड़ों के रोग अपनी ही मस्ती में अंदर ही अंदर बढ़ते रहते हैं। 

इस प्रकार की मैडीकेटिड टुथपेस्टों का नाम कुछ कारणों से मैं यहां लिख नहीं रहा हूं....लेकिन आप में से अधिकांश इन के बारे में पहले ही से जानते हैं और शायद कभी न कभी इन्हें किसी की रिक्मैंडेशन पर इस्तेमाल कर भी चुके होंगे।

आयुर्वैदिक टुथपावडर ....चूंकि मैं आयुर्वैदिक का प्रैक्टीशनर नहीं हूं...इसलिये इस संबंध में मेरे विचार बिल्कुल मेरी आबजर्वेशन पर ही आधारित हैं.....मैं वर्षों से इंतज़ार कर रहा हूं कि कोई आयुर्वैदिक विशेषज्ञ इन आयुर्वैदिक पावडरों के ऊपर भी तो प्रकाश डालें।

आप किसी आयुर्वैदिक पावडर की थोड़ी निंदा कर के तो देखिये...लोग शायद मरने-मारने पर उतारू हो जायेंगे। लेकिन भला क्यों करे निंदा, हम तो बस विज्ञान की बात करेंगे। मैं अकसर सोचता हूं कि हमारे लोगों की आयुर्वैदिक पर इतनी ज़्यादा आस्था होने का सब से फायदा इस तरह के आयुर्वैदिक पावडर एवं पेस्ट करने वाली कंपनियों ने ही उठाया है। फायदा ही नहीं उठाया, चांदी ही कूटी है। क्योंकि कितना आसान है कि किसी पेस्ट का अच्छा सा देसी नाम रख कर के लोगों की इस आस्था के साथ खिलवाड़ करना......ज़्यादातर लोगों को तो बस वैसे ही नाम ही से मतलब है....बस हो गया इन कंपनियों का काम....इन आयुर्वैदिक पेस्टों एवं पावडरों के अंदर क्या है, उधर झांकने की किसी पड़ी है....बस, नाम तो देसी है ना, सब ठीक ही होगा, और क्या ! अकसर लोग यही सोच लेते हैं।

अब इसे पढ़ते हुये आप में से कईं लोग यही सोच रहे हैं ना कि यह डाक्टर क्या कह रहा है, हज़ारों साल पुरानी आयुर्वैदिक चिकित्सा प्रणाली को ही बुरा भला कह रहा है। नहीं, मैं ऐसा बिल्कुल नहीं कह रहा हूं क्योंकि आप की तरह मेरे मन में इस आयुर्वैदिक चिकित्सा प्रणाली का बहुत आदर है, सम्मान है !

अब आप सोच रहे होंगे कि फिर तकलीफ़ कहां है...तो मेरी सुनिये तकलीफ़ केवल यही है कि मेरे विचार में लोगों के आयुर्वैदिक शब्द के प्रति जो सैंटीमेंट्स हैं, उन को एक्सप्लायट किया जा रहा है।

एक विचार मेरे मन में अकसर आता है कि इन आयुर्वैदिक पावडरों की पैकिंग के बाहर इतने ज़्यादा घटक( ingredients) लिखे होते हैं कि एक बार तो खुशफहमी होनी लाज़मी सी ही लगती है कि यह पावडर तो डायरैक्ट अपनी दादी के दवाखाने से ही आ रहा है। लेकिन मेरा एक प्रयोग करने की इच्छा होती है कि जितने पैसों में ये पावडर बाज़ार में मिलते हैं, अगर उतने पैसे में ही इन घटकों को बाज़ार से खरीद कर पीस लिया जाये, तो क्या इतना बड़ा डिब्बा तैयार हो पायेगा। अब इस का जवाब आप सोचें !! वैसे पर्सनली मुझे तो कभी नहीं लगता कि इतने पैसे खर्च कर हम इतना बड़ा डिब्बा तैयार कर सकते हैं।


आज से बीस साल पहले मैंने इन आयुर्वैदिक पावडरों पर एक सर्वे किया था....इस के अंतर्गत मैंने यही पाया था कि कुछ डिब्बों पर विभिन्न घटकों की बात की जाती है कि ये इतने ग्राम , वे इतने ग्राम....और बाद में लिखा होता था कि इसे 100 ग्राम बनाने के लिये बाकी गेरू मिट्टी मिलाई गई है। इस तरह का सर्वेक्षण करने का कारण यही था कि उन दिनों कुछ इस तरह के पावडर बाज़ार में उपलब्ध थे जिन में तंबाखू भी मिला हुया था. लेकिन क्या आज कल ऐसे पावडर नहीं मिलते.....खूब मिलते हैं. इस देश में क्या नहीं बिकता !

हां, तो मैं बात कर रहा था कि मिट्टी की.....वास्तविकता यह है कि ऐसे किसी भी पावडर को दांतों पर घिसने से दांतों की बाहरी परत क्षति-ग्रस्त हो जाती है और दांतों में ठंडा-गर्म लगना शुरू हो जाता है। मेरे पास इतने मरीज़ आते हैं जिन के दांतों की पतली हालत देखते ही मैं एक मंजन का नाम लेकर पूछता हूं कि आप वह वाला मंजन तो नहीं घिस रहे.......बहुत बार मुझे इस का जवाब हां में ही मिलता है।

अब तो लगता है कि मेरी ये बातें सुन कर आप की पेशेन्स जवाब दे रही होगी कि डाक्टर बातों को ज़्यादा घोल-घोल मत घुमा.....हमें तो बस इतना बता कि क्या इन आयुर्वैदिक टुथ-पावडरों का इस्तेमाल जारी रखें। लेकिन मैं भी तो उसी बात ही आ रहा हूं।

मेरा दृढ़ विश्वास तो यही है कि किसी दातुन ( नीम, बबूल आदि) के इलावा अगर आप किसी आयुर्वैदिक मंजन का इस्तेमाल करना चाहते हैं तो उसे आप स्वयं ही क्यों नहीं तैयार करवा लेते......well, that is just my opinion simply based upon my so many years of keen observation !

सीधी सी बात है कि आप कोई भी आयुर्वैदिक मंजन इस्तेमाल करें ..बस इस बात का ध्यान रखें कि उस में कुछ भी हानिकारक घटक न मिलाया गया हो, और ना ही इस तरह का मंजन खुरदरा ही हो..............लेकिन मेरी दंत-चिकित्सक को बिना किसी दांतों की तकलीफ़ के भी साल में एक बार मिलने की बात अपनी जगह पर अटल है क्योंकि वाहिद एक वह ही शख्स है जो कि यह कह सकता है कि आप के दांत एवं मसूड़ों रोग-मुक्त हैं। वैसे बार बार मुझे यहां जो यह शब्द आयुर्वैदिक मंजन लिखना पड़ रहा है ...मुझे इस के लिये एक अपराधबोध हो रहा है...अब आयुर्वैदिक तो एक निहायत ही कारगुज़ार चिकित्सा पद्धति है और मैं जब यह बार बार लिख रहा हूं कि आयुर्वैदिक मंजन तो यही लगता है कि इस में आयुर्वेद का ही कुछ चक्कर है। ऐसा कुछ नहीं है.....केवल लोगों को एक्सप्लायट करने का एक धंधा है। इसलिये सोच रहा हूं कि इन जगह जगह बिकने वाले पावडरों को देसी पावडर ही क्यों ना कह दिया करूं !!

तो, मैसेज क्लियर है कि आप कुछ भी इस्तेमाल करिये लेकिन वह आप के दांतो एवं मसूड़ों के लिये नुकसानदायक नहीं होना चाहिये और आप के दंत-चिकित्सक के पास नियमित जा कर अपना चैक-अप करवाते रहिये।

वैसे चाहे यह पोस्ट तो मैं आज समाप्त कर रहा हूं लेकिन दातुन के सही इस्तेमाल पर एक पोस्ट शीघ्र ही लिखूंगा।

नमक-तेलमेशरीदेसी साबुनराख.... लोग तरह तरह के अन-स्पैसीफाइड तरीकों से भी दांत मांजते रहते हैं। मेरा इन के बारे में यही विचार है कि something is better than nothing……..as long as it does not pose any health hazard !......नमक तेल का इस्तेमाल तो अकसर होता ही है....अब फर्क तो यही है कि कोई तो इसे शौकिया तौर पर कभी कभी कर रहा है लेकिन कोई इसे मजबूरी वश करता है कि उस के पास महंगी पेस्ट-ब्रुश खरीदने का जुगाड़ नहीं है...........लेकिन फर्क क्या पड़ता है, अगर दंत-चिकित्सक द्वारा नियमित किया गया परीक्षण यही कह रहा है कि सब कुछ ठीक ठाक है तो आखिर हर्ज क्या है। इस में कोई शक नहीं है कि इस नमक-तेल को दांतों की सफाई करने का विधान भी तो सैंकड़ों वर्ष पुराना है। लेकिन तंबाकू को जला कर उसे दांतों एवं मसूड़ों पर घिसने का विधान तो कहीं नहीं था...यह तो हमारी ही खुराफात है....ये बंबई में लोगों द्वारा बहुत इस्तेमाल होता है और इस जले हुये तंबाकू को मेशरी कहा जाता है। दांत तो इस से खाक साफ होते होंगे लेकिन मुंह के कैंसर को इस के बढ़िया खुला आमंत्रण तो कोई हो ही नहीं सकता......एक तरह से मुंह का कैंसर मोल लेने का सुपरहिट फार्मूला। अब, कईं लोग देसी साबुन से दांत मांज लेते हैं ....यह भी गलत है क्योंकि इस में मौजूद कैमिकल्स की वजह से मुंह में घाव हो जाते हैं। कुछ लोगों को घर ही में आंच पर बादाम के छिलकों को जला कर मंजन तैयार करते देखा है। भारत के इस भाग में लोगों विशेषकर महिलाओं द्वारा दंदासा बहुत इस्तेमाल होता है.....यह अखरोट की छाल है जिसे दातुन के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। मुस्लिम भाईयों में दांतों की सफाई के लिये मिस्वॉक का इस्तेमाल होता है ...जिस में बहुत से लाभदायक तत्व होने की बात सिद्ध हो चुकी है।

यह वाली बात यहीं पर यह कह कर समाप्त करता हूं कि आप जो भी वस्तु नित-प्रतिदिन अपने दांतों एवं मसूड़ों पर इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं , वह हर तरह के नुकसानदायक गुणों से रहित होनी चाहिये और बेहतर होगा कि दंत-चिकित्सक से थोड़ी बात ही कर ली जाये।

सामान्य टुथपेस्ट ----टुथपेस्टों की आज बाज़ार में भरमार है। लेकिन जब मेरे से लोग पूछते हैं कि कौन सा पेस्ट इस्तेमाल करें तो मैं हमारे यहां उपलब्ध बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियों की दो-तीन पेस्टों के नाम गिना देता हूं कि इन में से कोई भी कर लिया करो। इस के बारे में मैं स्वदेशी, देशी या परदेसी के चक्कर में कभी नहीं पड़ना चाहता हूं ....मेरा तर्क है कि अगर किसी टाप कंपनी की पेस्ट मेरे किसी मरीज़ को किसी भी दूसरी पेस्ट के दाम में मिल रही है तो क्यों इस दूसरी (पेस्ट ही !....और कुछ न समझ लीजियेगा!) के चक्कर में पड़ना !

अमीर से अमीर देशों ने इन दांतों की बीमारियों को इलाज के द्वारा दुरूस्त करने की नाकामयाब कोशिशें की हैं, लेकिन अमेरिका जैसे अमीर देशों ने भी अपने हाथ खड़े कर दिये। तो, वैज्ञानिकों ने यह तय कर लिया कि अगर हम मुंह की बीमारियों पर विजय हासिल करना चाहते हैं तो हमें इन से बचाव का ही माडल अपनाना होगा। इसलिये दांतों की बीमारियों से बचने का सब से सुपरहिट साधन आखिर ढूंढ ही निकाल लिया गया जिस की सिफारिश विश्व-स्वास्थ्य संगठन भी करता है.....वह यही है कि हमें दिन में दो बार...सुबह और रात को सोने से पहले किसी भी फ्लोराइड-युक्त टुथपेस्ट से ही दांत साफ करने चाहिये। इसलिये आप भी टुथपेस्ट खरीदते समय यह ज़रूर चैक कर लिया करें कि उस में फ्लोराइड मिला हुया है। यह दांत की बीमारियों से बचने का बहुत बड़ा हथियार है। आज से बीस साल पहले इस फ्लोराइड के उपयोग के बारे में भी देश में दो खेमे बने हुये थे। इस के बारे में अगर कोई प्रश्न हो तो बतलाइएगा, किसी अगली पोस्ट में डिटेल में कवर कर लूंगा। ये फ्लोराइड युक्त पेस्ट को सात साल की उम्र से तो शुरू कर ही लेना चाहिये...लेकिन जैसे ही बच्चा चार साल का हो तो उस के ब्रुश पर इस पेस्ट की बिल्कुल थोड़ी सी पेस्ट लगा कर शुरू किया जा सकता है लेकिन यह ध्यान रहे कि बच्चा पेस्ट खाता न हो।

फिर कभी इस फ्लोराइड के बारे में , इस पेस्ट के एवं इस ब्रुश के बारे में विस्तृत चर्चा करेंगे।

जाते जाते एक बात कहना यह भी चाह रहा हूं कि आज कल हम लोगों का खान-पान भी तो बहुत ज़्यादा बदल गया है, हम ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा रिफाइन्ड चीज़ें खाने लगे हैं, ज़्यादा हार्ड-चीजें हम अपने खाने में शामिल करने से अकसर गुरेज़ ही करते हैं , कच्चे-खाने( सलाद, अंकुरित अनाज एवं दालों आदि) से दूर होते जा रहे हैं क्योंकि फॉस्ट-फूड को पास लाने की जल्दी में हैं तो फिर इस टुथपेस्ट और ब्रुश को भी तो अपनाना ही होगा।

वैसे अब जब इस पोस्ट को पब्लिश करने का वक्त आया है तो यही सोच रहा हूं कि इस विषय का स्कोप भी इतना विशाल है कि कैसे एक-दो पोस्टों में इस के न्याय करूं....खैर, सब कुछ आप की टिप्पणीयों पर , फीडबैक पर निर्भर है ....आप अगर इस विषय के बारे में और कुछ जानना चाहेंगे तो इस के बारे में लिखते जायेंगे। लेकिन जाते जाते एक काम की बात जो किताबों में लिखी है वह ज़रूर बतानी चाहूंगा कि ब्रुश को पेस्ट के साथ करना शायद इतना लाज़मी भी नहीं है....यह तो केवल ब्रुश की अक्सैप्टेबिलिटी बढ़ाती है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि अगर किसी को बिना पेस्ट के दांत साफ करने को कहें तो कितने लोग करेंगे..................औरों की तो मैं नहीं जानता, मैं खुद तो नहीं कर पाऊंगा क्योंकि मैं पिछले 18 सालों से इस फ्लोराइड-युक्त पेस्ट से ही दांत ब्रुश कर रहा हूं............संतुष्ट हूं और ब्रांड-लॉयल भी हूं।

संडे हो या मंडे--रोज़ खाओ अंडे.....लेकिन इसे पढ़ने के बाद !

मुझे पता है कि आप ने वह संडे हो या मंडे- रोज़ खाओ अंडे वाला विज्ञापन बहुत बार देखा है, लेकिन आज कल चूंकि देश के कुछ हिस्सों में बर्ड-फ्लू के नाम से थोड़े भयभीत से हैं, इसलिए कुछ बातों की तरफ ध्यान देना बहुत ज़रूरी है।
· विशेषज्ञों ने कच्चे एवं हॉफ-ब्वायलड ( raw and soft boiled eggs) अंडो से परहेज़ करने की सलाह दी है। जिन अंड़ों को उच्च तापमान पर पकाया नहीं जाता, उन के खाने से बर्ड-फ्लू के जीवाणु के इलावा टॉयफाड एवं अन्य जीवाणुओं से होने वाली बीमारियों का खतरा मंडराता रहता है।
· बर्ड-फ्लू से बचने के लिए केवल पूरी तरह उबले अंडों (full boiled eggs)का ही इस्तेमाल किया जाना चाहिए।
· दूध में कच्चे अंडे डाल कर नहीं पीना चाहिए । आधे उबले अंडों ( half- boiled eggs) एवं ऐसे अंडे जिन का योक- अर्थात् वही पीला भाग- तरल सी अवस्था में बह रहा हो ( runny yolk) ,इन का भी सेवन नहीं करना चाहिए।
· जो लोग बाहर खाते हैं उन्हें भी इस बात को सुनिश्चित कर लेना चाहिए कि अंडे से बनी सभी पकवानों को उच्च तापमान पर ही तैयार किया गया है। सामान्यतः एक हॉफ-ब्वायलड अंडे को तैयार होने में तीन मिनट, मीडियम ब्वायलड को पांच मिनट और फुल-ब्वायलड अंडे को तैयार होने में दस मिनट का समय लगता है।
· विशेषज्ञों ने स्पष्ट किया है कि केक खाना सुरक्षित है ...चूंकि उस में अंडा पड़ा होता है, लेकिन केक की बेकिंग के लिए 200डिग्री सैल्सियस का तापमान चाहिए होता है, जिस के परिणामस्वरूप अंडे में मौजूद बैक्टीरिया एवं अन्य जीवाणु नष्ट हो जाते हैं। यह ध्यान रहे कि हॉफ-ब्वायलड अंडे आम तौर पर रशियन सलाद जैसी प्रैपरेशन्स में डलते हैं।
· एक बात जो बहुत ही ज़रूरी है लेकिन कभी कोई इस तरफ कम ही ध्यान देता है ..वह यह है कि अंडों को इस्तेमाल करने से पहले धो लेना निहायत ही ज़रूरी है क्योंकि जीवाणु केवल अंडे के शैल ( shell of egg) के अंदर ही नहीं होते, ये शैल के बाहर भी मौजूद हो सकते हैं। और एक बात और भी इतनी ही ज़रूरी है कि कच्चे अंडों को हाथ लगाने के बाद भी हाथ धोना ज़रूरी है।

पता नहीं अब हमारे सादे पान-मसाले पर क्यों डाक्टर अपनी डाक्टरी झाड़ रहे हैं !

अभी मैं अपना लैप-टाप खोल कर स्टडी-रूममें बैठ कर सोच ही रहा था कि आज किस विषय पर पोस्ट लिखूं कि अचानक बेटे ने मेरी टेबल के सामने लगे बोर्ड पर लगे एक विज्ञापन की कटिंग को देखते हुए कहा कि पापा, यह विज्ञापन मैंने भी देखा था, बड़ा अजीब लगा था।

क्योंकि इस पान मसाले में है.....अव्वल दर्जे का कत्था(रू800प्रतिकिलो) , पवित्र चंदन(रू60000-66000प्रतिकिलो),रूह केवड़ा(रू3लाख प्रतिकिलो), ज़ायकेदार इलायची(रू450प्रतिकिलो), प्रोसैस्ड सुपारी(रू200-225प्रतिकिलो), 0%तम्बाकू(तम्बाकू के रूप में नहीं)................यह विज्ञापन किसी हिंदी के समाचार-पत्र में छपा था। अब कोई भी बंदा इतना लुभावना विज्ञापन देखने के बाद भला क्यों करेगा गुरेज़ मुंह में दो-तीन पानमसाले के पाउच उंडेलने से। और ऊपर से यह 0तम्बाकू वाली बात ....भई यह सब कुछ लिखा हो तो पानमसाले की धूम आखिर क्यों न मचे। वैसे वो 0तम्बाकू- तम्बाकू के रूप में नहीं वाली बात तो मेरी समझ में भी नहीं आई...........।

लेकिन यह पानमसाला खाना भी हमारी सेहत के लिए बहुत नुकसानदायक है। आप ही सोचिए कि अगर ऐसा न हो तो क्यों विज्ञापन के एक कोने में यह चेतावनी भी लिखी हो....पानमसाला चबाना स्वास्थ्य के लिए हानिकारक हो सकता है। वैसे वो बात दूसरी है कि उसे लिखा कुछ इस तरह से होता है कि उसे पहले तो कोई ढूंढ ही न पाये और अगर गलती से ढूंढ ले भी तो बंदा पढ़ ही न पाये।

जी हां, पानमसाला चबाना भी स्वास्थ्य के लिए हानिकारक है। इस में मौजूद सुपारी को मुंह के कैंसर की एक पूर्व-अवस्था सब-मयूक्स फाईब्रोसिस( submucous fibrosis) के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया जा रहा है और यह वैज्ञानिक तौर पर सिद्ध भी हो चुका है.....।

छोटे छोटे कॉलजियेट लड़कों को दो-पहिया वाहनों पर चढ़े-चढ़े नुक्कड़ वाले पनवाड़ी की दुकान के ठीक सामने वाले फुटपाथ पर पानमसाले के दो तीन पाउच इक्ट्ठे ही मुंह में उंडेलते हुए बेहद दुःख होता है....यह शौक शुरू शुरू में तो रोमांचित करता होगा लेकिन बाद में जब इस की लत पक्की हो जाती है तो फिर शायद इसे छोड़ना सब के बश की बात भी नहीं होती।

ओरल-सबम्यूक्स फाईब्रोसिस की बात चली थी तो कुछ इस के बारे में बात भी की जाये...इस अवस्था में मुहं की नर्म,लचकीली चमडी़अपनी लचक खो कर, बिलकुल सख्त, चमड़े जैसी और झुर्रीदार हो जाती है, धीरे धीरे मुंह खुलना बंद हो जाता है, मुंह में घाव और छाले हो जाते हैं और मरीज़ को कुछ भी खाने में बहुत जलन होती है। यह कैंसर की पूर्वावस्था होती है और यह अवस्था किस मरीज़ में आगे चल कर मुंह के कैंसर का रूप धारण कर ले., यह कुछ नहीं कहा जा सकता । इसलिए इस अवस्था का तुरंत इलाज करवाना बहुत लाजमी है.....क्योंकि इस अवस्था में तो कईं बार मरीज का मुंह इतना कम खुलने लगता है कि वह रोटी का एक निवाला तक मुंह के अंदर नहीं रख सकता जिस के कारण उसे फिर तरल-पदार्थों पर ही ज़िंदा रहना पड़ता है या फिर सर्जरी के द्वारा मुंह खुलवाना पड़ता है और सब से...सब से ...सब से जरूरी यह कि उसे पानमसाले की लत को हमेशा के लिए लत मारनी पड़ती है।

लेकिन इस लत को लात मारने के लिए आखिर तब तक इंतजार आखिर किया ही क्यों जाये.....यह शुभ काम हमआज ही कर दें तो कितना बढ़िया होगा....आज से ही क्यों अभी से ही अपने मुंह में रखे पान-मसाले को अभी थूक दें तो क्या कहने......शाबाश.....यह हुई न बात......मोगैंबों खुश हुया।
